Kershaw gets a lot of things right when it comes to pocket knives, and the Kershaw Chill is no exception. Ive had mine for a few months now, and so far its been one of the best investments Ive ever made. The value for the money on this knife is incredible.
The Kershaw Chill is one of Kershaws new models designed by R.J. Martin. This model contains no thumb studs, and it opens with a dedicated flipper switch, which is easy to use. The knife has the same visual appeal as other knives designed by R.J. Martin, and it fits well in the collection.
The blade opens fast, has nice action, and it feels quite sturdy. Overall, the knife has a very thin profile and sleek design. It measures 3.125 inches long when closed and 7 inches long when open. Its made from 8CR13MOV satin finish steel, and the narrow blade is perfect for slicing. Its also one of the lightest knives Ive ever used; it only weighs 2 ounces, and I dont even notice it on my pocket. The blade has elegant curves and a very fine point. It also sharpens easily and holds its edge for a long time.
The Ergonomic CNC machined G-10 handle fits well in the hand and feels smooth. The handle is textured for additional grip and has the appearance of carbon fibre. It contains dual stainless steel liners that have been drilled out to reduce weight, and its held together with six hex screws. Theres a lanyard hole that allows for 1/8 cordage if you want added protection from losing it in the woods.
The Kershaw Chill Pocket Knife includes an extra sturdy reversible belt clip made from brushed steel that has the Kershaw logo stamped on it. The clip has a steep ramp at the end, so it easily slips onto your pocket. The tension is extra strong, so there are no worries of it moving around or falling off. The clip is adjustable using the same size hex screw as the handle screws. The Chill is an elegant knife and very attractive; both in function and design. I ordered mine online, and it arrived razor-sharp out of the box.
The only negative that I can detect about the Kershaw Chill is that its made in China; however, Ive purchased other Kershaw pocket knives that are made in China, and Ive have had excellent results with them , so theres no justifiable complaint here, just more of a lack of trust in Chinese quality controls.
I do a lot of camping, hiking, and fishing, and so far this knife has performed beautifully. Id recommend it to anyone, and personally Im buying one for my dad for the holidays. I know itll make the perfect stoking stuffer. Not to mention that its an incredible value. If youre ever out of ideas about what gift to get for just about any guy, you can always give them a Kershaw Chill Pocket Knife; you cant go wrong with a pocket knife of this quality at this price.
Out of 173 reviews on Amazon, this knife received a 4.5 star rating. This shows how truly impressed people are with the performance of this knife. The knife price is very low, and some people have even received a discount from Amazon. One customer exclaims, The Chill has been with me for 45 days, and it has gotten a lot of use. It is the BEST AFFORDABLE EDC yet!
All in all, this is one of the best knives that you can get for the money. I would have though from examining the knife that it would cost a lot, and I was shocked when I learned that it was such a cheap. The Kershaw Chill Pocket Knife also comes with a limited lifetime warranty on workmanship and defects in materials.Way to go Kershaw!
